Paul Ince Arrested and Charged with Drink Driving After Car Crash
Paul Ince, the former England captain and well-known footballer, has been formally charged with drink driving following a car incident in Cheshire. The 57-year-old, who has played for clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool, and West Ham, was involved in a collision where his black Range Rover struck a central reservation barrier on Chester High Road in Neston.
The police responded to reports of the crash around 5 pm on Saturday, June 28. Ince was subsequently arrested at the scene and later released on bail. He is scheduled to appear before Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, July 18.
The incident occurred near Heswall Golf Club, an area where Ince has previously shared content on social media. Ince has an extensive football career, earning 53 caps for England and being remembered as the first Black captain of the national team. His notable achievements include winning two Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a League Cup during his playing days.
Following his playing career, Ince transitioned into management, leading teams such as Macclesfield, MK Dons, Blackburn Rovers, Notts County, Blackpool, and most recently Reading until 2023.
