Woman Resists Attempted Sexual Assault at Queens Bus Stop
A woman defended herself when a man attempted to assault her early Friday morning at a bus stop in Queens, according to police reports.
The 26-year-old woman was near the corner of Woodhaven Boulevard and Hoffman Drive in Elmhurst around 4:30 a.m. when a stranger approached her from behind, slapped her on the buttocks, and then briefly left. He returned moments later, grabbed her wrists, pushed her against a fence, and made an attempt to sexually assault her by lifting her skirt.
The victim managed to fight off her attacker, who then fled into the nearby subway station. Authorities describe the suspect as a tall, thin man with a dark complexion, estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old. At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue headphones, a surgical mask, a black jacket, camouflage pants, and gray sneakers.
