Shocking Footage Reveals David Beckham’s Painful Wrist Injury That Forced Surgery!
David Beckham Undergoes Surgery for Long-Standing Wrist Injury
Legendary footballer David Beckham recently had surgery to address an ongoing wrist injury that has troubled him for over 20 years. The procedure was performed after medical examinations revealed persistent issues with his right wrist, which first sustained damage during an England match in 2003.
The injury occurred when Beckham fell awkwardly following a heavy challenge from South Africa’s Thabang Molefe. Despite attempting to continue playing, he was eventually substituted by his coach, Sven-Goran Eriksson. Subsequent scans confirmed that Beckham had fractured the scaphoid bone in his hand—a difficult injury to treat because of its location between the thumb and wrist.
The fracture coincided with another notable injury Beckham sustained to his foot, famously breaking his metatarsal a year earlier. The scaphoid fracture required surgical intervention to repair the damage. Recently, X-rays indicated that a screw from the original surgery had not dissolved as intended and had become embedded in his forearm, prompting a second operation.
The surgery appears to have been successful. Beckham’s wife, Victoria, shared a photo of him in a hospital bed wearing a sling, along with a message wishing him a speedy recovery. Beckham was also seen wearing a bracelet inscribed with “get well soon.”
A source close to Beckham explained that he had endured years of discomfort, which had become unbearable recently. The operation aims to relieve this pain and improve his quality of life after decades of suffering.
