NYC Mayoral Hopeful Zohran Mamdani Drops S:ho:ck Rap Video During Live CNN Interview!
Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani Faces Awkward Highlight Over Past Rap Video
During a recent live interview, Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani was confronted with a 2019 rap video that unexpectedly gained widespread attention. The Queen’s Assembly member, known for his left-leaning policies, appeared visibly uncomfortable as the clip played.
The video, featuring Mamdani performing under the name “Mr. Cardamom,” shows him in a shirtless state wearing an apron, dancing and rapping. Notably, the lyrics of one song, “Holy Land Five,” praised five men convicted of supporting Hamas, the terrorist organization, by donating over $12 million.
In the video, Mamdani sings: “My love to the Holy Land Five. You better look ‘em up,” endorsing individuals linked to the Holy Land Foundation, which was found guilty of funding Hamas. This revelation sparked criticism, as some questioned his readiness to lead New York City.
When questioned about critic doubts, Mamdani responded that his campaign reflects the future administration he would lead, sidestepping the references to his musical past. The controversy underscores the importance of a candidate’s past remarks and actions, especially in a city as diverse and politically aware as New York.
Additionally, Mamdani’s candidacy has faced pushback from other figures, notably rapper 50 Cent, who publicly offered Mamdani $258,000 to withdraw from the race, mocking his musical endeavors and political stance.
