Mario Balotelli to Join Spanish Third Division for Free After Falling Out with Genoa—Shocking Transfer!
Ex-Premier League Player Mario Balotelli Likely to Join Spanish Third Division Club on Free Transfer
Mario Balotelli, the well-known former Premier League star, appears poised to take a significant step down his footballing path, with reports suggesting he is close to signing with a third-tier Spanish team.
Balotelli, famed for his time at Manchester City and Liverpool, is remembered as one of the league’s most colorful characters, both on and off the pitch. His time at City was marked by key contributions, including assisting Sergio Aguero’s dramatic injury-time winning goal against Queens Park Rangers on the last day of the season.
The 34-year-old joined Genoa in October but is expected to leave this summer after making only six appearances for the Serie A club. His agents are currently discussing the possibility of him joining Real Murcia, a team based in southeastern Spain, which will be competing in the third division next season.
Recent talks between Murcia’s management and Balotelli’s representatives suggest that a transfer is increasingly likely. The club’s president, Felipe Moreno, has met with Balotelli’s advisors and is negotiating the terms with the team’s sporting director, Asier Goiria. Further discussions are expected to finalize the deal.
Real Murcia, which has a stadium capacity of 31,000, finished second in their league last season but narrowly missed promotion after losing in the playoffs. They are aiming to improve and push for higher achievements in the upcoming season.
