Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sánchez’s Jaw-Dropping Wedding—You Won’t Believe How Over-the-Top It Was!
Jeff Bezos Marries Lauren Sánchez in a Lavish Ceremony in Venice
Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon, married former news anchor Lauren Sánchez in an opulent ceremony in Venice, Italy. The event followed days of celebration, despite the fact that the couple was already legally married prior to the wedding.
On Friday evening, the couple exchanged vows on San Giorgio Maggiore island in front of a star-studded guest list, including prominent figures such as former presidents, celebrities, and industry leaders. The ceremony featured performances of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Matteo Bocelli and Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” by a gospel choir, creating a romantic atmosphere.
The wedding was marked by an enthusiastic celebration with family and friends, who cheered as the couple sealed their marriage with a kiss. The festivities are expected to continue with a grand reception, organized by top wedding planners, and reportedly cost around $50 million. Almost all wedding-related items were sourced locally from Venetian vendors, including desserts from Rosa Salva and glassware from Murano artisan Laguna B.
Leading up to the big day, the couple hosted a luxurious welcome party at the Madonna dell’Orto church, which was cut short due to a thunderstorm. They also celebrated with a pre-wedding foam party aboard Bezos’s $500 million megayacht, Koru.
The couple, who began dating in 2019 after finalizing their previous marriages, kept their relationship discreet until they were both divorced. Sánchez was previously married to Patrick Whitesell, with whom she has children, and Bezos shares children with his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott.
In line with their commitment to the community, Bezos and Sánchez also donated to local Venice charities prior to the wedding amidst protests calling for higher taxes from wealthy individuals renting the city’s historic sites for personal events.
