Egyptian Man Kicked Out After Beagle Sniffs Out 100 lbs of Illegal Food at DC Airport!
Deported Man Assaults Custom Beagle Catching Smuggled Food
An Egyptian man attempting to smuggle over 100 pounds of food through Dulles Airport was deported after violently kicking a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) beagle that alerted authorities to his illicit luggage.
The incident occurred when CBP’s detection dog, Brigader Beagle Freddie, signaled suspicion on the traveler’s bags. In response, 70-year-old Hamed Ramadan Bayoumy Aly Marie violently kicked Freddie with enough force to lift the 25-pound dog into the air. The confrontation led officers to find a stash of undeclared food items, including 55 pounds of beef, 44 pounds of rice, eggplant, corn seeds, cucumbers, peppers, and herbs.
While inspecting the luggage, officers also found various prohibited agricultural products. “Intentionally smuggling over a hundred pounds of undeclared goods does not justify assaulting a law enforcement dog,” said CBP Area Director Christine Waugh.
After the attack, officers detained Marie, who pleaded guilty in federal court to harming a law enforcement animal. As a result, he was swiftly deported on a flight back to Egypt.

The dog sustained a contusion to his chest but is expected to recover fully. Freddie’s handler praised the dog for his diligent work and emphasized that attacks on law enforcement animals are unacceptable. The beagle continues to serve in screening for illegal goods, ensuring the safety and security of U.S. borders.
