Amber Alert for Missing Idaho Teens: Mom Suspects FLDS Members After Escape from Church!

Amber Alert Issued for Missing Idaho Teens Believed to Be Heading to Utah

Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for two teenagers missing in Idaho who are thought to be en route to Utah due to their religious beliefs. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports that Allen Larand Fischer, 13, and Rachelle Leray Fischer, 15, left their home in Monteview around June 22 and may have returned to Trenton, Utah, where they previously lived.

The siblings, members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS), are believed to have voluntarily left Idaho to return to Utah. Their older sister, Elintra Dee Fischer, 18, was reported missing earlier this year, on January 1, 2023, and authorities now suspect she might be involved in their disappearance.

The children’s mother, Elizabeth Roundy, who previously was part of a polyamorous marriage within the FLDS church, spoke to a news outlet about her situation. She revealed she left the church in 2020 and fought to regain custody of her children, who are now believed to have been influenced by religious brainwashing.

Law enforcement has been unable to find evidence of a vehicle that the children might have used. Investigators confirmed that the vehicle initially suspected has not traveled to Idaho during their disappearance window and that the children went missing sometime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on June 22. It remains unclear whether they are still nearby or have left the area.

Roundy expressed her belief that Elintra might be assisting her siblings in returning to Utah, stating, “They’ve just been brainwashed and turned against me.” Authorities are urging anyone with information about the missing teens to contact their dispatch center.
