Timo Werner in Talks for MLS Move

The New York Red Bulls are actively negotiating to sign German striker Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. The 29-year-old, who has spent recent seasons on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, is the focus of ongoing discussions, though no official agreement has been reached yet.

Werner, a Stuttgart native, is Leipzig’s all-time top scorer. With the club currently featuring other attacking options such as Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda, Leipzig may be open to transferring Werner to make room for emerging talents.

Meanwhile, the Red Bulls are currently positioned seventh in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer and eleventh overall in the league under coach Sandro Schwarz. The team has been effective offensively, scoring 30 goals this season, with former Bayern striker Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting leading their attack.
