Jill Biden’s ‘Work Husband’ Anthony Bernal Busted in Subpoena Scandal Over Ex-President’s Cognitive Decline!
House Republicans Subpoena Biden Aide Over Potential Cover-Up
House Republicans have issued a subpoena for Anthony Bernal, a senior advisor and close confidant of the Biden family, to testify regarding alleged efforts to conceal President Joe Biden’s possible cognitive decline during his presidency.
Bernal, who was Jill Biden’s “work husband” and a key aide, declined a voluntary interview requested by the House Oversight Committee. The committee had planned to question him about reports suggesting there may have been an attempt to hide the president’s mental state.
Initially scheduled to appear this Thursday, Bernal withdrew after the White House counsel’s office informed his lawyer that he would not be granted executive privilege, a legal shield typically reserved for current officials to keep communications confidential. This privilege can only be granted by the current administration.
Records indicate Bernal’s close involvement with the family, having traveled with them and remained a trusted adviser, especially after Biden’s debate performance last June that led to internal criticism and strategic changes.
The subpoena requires Bernal to appear for a deposition on July 16. Former Biden aides hope he will provide insights not only on Biden’s cognitive health but also on workplace issues, including allegations of harassment and bullying within the White House staff.
Bernal’s lawyer, Jonathan Su, requested a delay to prepare him for questioning, citing the need to review topics to be discussed. Failure to comply with the subpoena could lead to a contempt of Congress ruling and possible criminal charges.
