Boston University Hit with New Sexual Harassment Claims Weeks After Alex Cooper Allegations!
Ex-Coachaccused of Sexual Harassment at Boston University Women’s Soccer Program
Recently, a second former Boston University women’s soccer coach has been accused of sexual misconduct amidst ongoing allegations within the program. This comes shortly after allegations made by Alex Cooper, a former BU player and current podcast host, were revealed in her Hulu documentary, “Call Me Alex.” Cooper described her experience of harassment by longtime head coach Nancy Feldman as deeply painful and noted that her concerns were disregarded by university officials.
In addition to Cooper’s claims, reports indicate that Casey Brown, a previous assistant coach who succeeded Feldman as head coach in 2022 before stepping down in December 2024, faces similar accusations. A student-athlete, Shayla Brown, informed the university’s ethics hotline that Casey Brown was acting inappropriately toward a key teammate, attempting to manipulate her in distressing ways. Shayla and other players later filed formal complaints with the school’s Equal Opportunity Office, sharing concerns of being targeted and subjected to unwelcome advances.
Despite an internal investigation that concluded no violations of university policy or sexual harassment occurred, Brown publicly defended her record, rejecting the allegations as misrepresented and selective. She emphasized her commitment to her work and questioned why the claims persisted despite the investigation’s findings.
Meanwhile, a group of 99 alumni from BU Women’s Soccer expressed their support for Feldman, stating they never felt unsafe under her leadership and emphasizing her professionalism. They acknowledged her lasting influence and commitment to the team’s success across decades.
