Death of Suspect in Palm Springs Fertility Clinic Bombing

An individual linked to the recent bombing at a Palm Springs fertility clinic has died while in federal custody, authorities confirmed. The suspect, Daniel Park, 32, was involved in conspiracy charges related to the attack and was found unresponsive at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. Despite emergency efforts, he was declared dead after being transported to a hospital.

Park was previously accused of assisting in the supply of explosive materials to Guy Edward Bartkus, who carried out the car bomb explosion at the American Reproductive Centers clinic. The blast caused significant damage to the facility, which is located in a desert oasis area.

Authorities reported that Park was found unresponsive and was given life-saving measures before being hospitalized. The Federal Bureau of Prisons did not disclose additional details about the cause of his death.

Following the attack, Park was arrested in Poland shortly after fleeing the U.S. and was quickly extradited back to American authorities. He is accused of providing Bartkus with 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate, a key component used to craft the explosive device found in Bartkus’s home lab in Twentynine Palms, close to Palm Springs.
