Zohran Mamdani Explodes: Shocking Reaction to US Bombing I:ra:n Nuclear Sites!

Mayor Candidate Criticizes U.S. Airstrikes on Iran

Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist running for mayor, condemned the recent U.S. bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites, calling it an “unconstitutional military action.” He criticized President Trump for disregarding procedures, stating, “This act threatens to deepen global chaos and underscores a betrayal of promises to end wars.”

Mamdani, who is closing in on the frontrunner Andrew Cuomo in polls, emphasized the local impact of international conflict, noting, “In a city as international as ours, war reverberates here at home.” He criticized the political establishment for prioritizing military spending over social needs like poverty reduction and peace initiatives.

“Donald Trump promised to end wars, not start new ones,” Mamdani remarked, criticizing the recent bombings.

Mamdani differentiated between the act of bombing Iran’s nuclear capabilities and the manner in which it was executed, asserting, “He should have consulted Congress. Instead, Trump acted unilaterally, ignoring established protocols.”

City Comptroller Brad Lander also voiced opposition, calling the strikes “reckless and unconstitutional,” and expressed concern for families in both Iran and New York, who worry about loved ones amid rising tensions. Lander tweeted that the strikes escalate war risks and threaten lives internationally.

President Trump defended the airstrikes, stating, “Our goal was to eliminate Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and curb the nuclear threat,” highlighting the perceived necessity of the action. The strikes occurred just before the final day of voting in New York City’s mayoral primary, possibly influencing the election’s outcome.

Mayor Eric Adams increased police presence around cultural and diplomatic sites, considering the large Persian community in NYC, in response to the attack. Meanwhile,Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez condemned the bombing as “grounds for impeachment,” criticizing Trump’s foreign policy choices.

Mamdani, a vocal supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, has faced criticism for his stance against Israel, which has also conducted strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The Democratic primary concludes with in-person voting Tuesday, with the likely future mayor poised to emerge from this deeply Democratic city.
