US Assessment: Iran’s Nuclear Program Survived Recent Strikes

The Biden administration has recently canceled a classified briefing to Congress regarding the recent US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to a new report, the US military targeted three of Iran’s nuclear sites last weekend. An early assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency indicates that the core components of Iran’s nuclear program remain largely intact. This battle damage evaluation was conducted by US Central Command following the strikes.

Sources familiar with the assessment revealed that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was not destroyed during the attack. Additionally, it appears that most of the centrifuges—used to enrich uranium—are still operational, meaning Iran’s nuclear infrastructure was not significantly crippled.

This intelligence contradicts former President Donald Trump’s claim that the Iranian nuclear program was “obliterated” by the strikes. Experts suggest there is no concrete evidence to support the assertion that Iran’s nuclear capabilities were completely neutralized, and current assessments point to a limited setback rather than a total elimination of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
