Liverpool Legend Shockingly Rejoins Football Just Days After Sacking—And Fans Are Stunned!

Dirk Kuyt Nearing Return to Management Less Than a Week After Sacking

Former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt is reportedly set to return to coaching just four days after parting ways with Belgian club Beerschot. According to sources, second-tier Dutch side FC Dordrecht is in negotiations to appoint the 44-year-old as their new manager.

Kuyt previously served in the club’s youth academy following his retirement from playing in 2017. His potential appointment would mark his third managerial role, after coaching spells at ADO Den Haag and Beerschot.

He led Beerschot to win the Belgian Challenger Pro League title in his first season but struggled to maintain top-flight status, leading to relegation last season. The club acknowledged Kuyt’s positive influence despite the team’s struggles, thanking him for his dedication and energy.

During his tenure, Beerschot won just two of six matches in the relegation playoffs, and the club confirmed his departure with a statement praising his contributions. Kuyt had voiced frustrations with poor facilities, describing the lack of training grounds and the challenges faced ahead of matches.

As a player, Kuyt’s most prominent years were at Liverpool, where he scored 71 goals in 285 appearances, helping secure the 2011-12 League Cup. His international record includes 104 caps and 24 goals for the Netherlands.

Rumors last month linked Kuyt to a potential role as assistant to Arne Slot at Liverpool, following John Heitinga’s departure, although reports suggest Giovanni van Bronckhorst might join Slot’s staff instead.
