President Trump Condemns Rep. Thomas Massie and Vows to Support Opponent

President Trump publicly criticized Republican Rep. Thomas Massie for his efforts to limit presidential war powers, especially after Massie co-introduced legislation to restrict the president’s authority to strike Iran. Trump called Massie a “pathetic loser” and accused him of poor voting record and ineffective leadership.

Trump emphasized his commitment to strong national security measures, stating that he would support a primary challenger against Massie, whom he dismissed as out of touch with America’s interests. He also highlighted his recent military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, asserting they were necessary to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. Trump reiterated his belief that Iran, which has historically opposed the U.S., poses a significant threat.

Trump accused Massie of lacking patriotism, claiming he votes “NO” on nearly every initiative and does not prioritize America first. He criticized Massie’s stance against military actions, asserting that such opposition undermines national security efforts.

In Congress, Massie recently opposed the legislation known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which aims to be a key part of Trump’s legislative agenda. The ongoing disputes reflect tension over foreign policy and domestic legislative priorities. Earlier, Massie teamed with Democrat Ro Khanna to propose a War Powers Resolution to curb presidential authority in military interventions.

Trump stressed that his military actions are vital to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which he considers a grave threat to U.S. security. He accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism and harming Americans, asserting that strong, decisive action is necessary to protect national interests.

He dismissed critics like Massie, claiming that their stance aligns with nothing but “lazy, grandstanding” politics, and reaffirmed his determination to take tough measures against Iran to ensure America’s safety.
