Premier League Investigates Chelsea Over Todd Boehly’s Ownership of Ticket Reselling Website

The Premier League has begun discussions with Chelsea concerning the club’s owner, Todd Boehly, due to his involvement with the ticket reselling platform Vivid Seats. Fans of Chelsea had previously called on authorities to examine the platform, which has been criticized for listing tickets at significantly inflated prices.

Vivid Seats has been identified by the Premier League as an unauthorized ticketing site, with reports highlighting instances where tickets for Chelsea matches, including high-profile games like against Liverpool, have been offered for up to £20,000. The league advises supporters to be cautious when dealing with unofficial ticket vendors.

The league’s chief executive, Richard Masters, confirmed during a meeting with the Football Supporters’ Association that a formal letter has been sent to Chelsea regarding the matter. Additionally, he stated he will inform the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust once discussions with the club are concluded.

Boehly, who is both an investor and director at Vivid Seats, is part of the BlueCo consortium that owns Chelsea. This connection has raised concerns over potential conflicts of interest and the ethical implications of his dual roles.
