Firefighters Give Selfie-Taking Ladies an Unbelievable Ride — Must Watch!

NYC Firefighters Caught Playing with Fire During Reckless Ride

Firefighters from Ladder Company 18 on the Lower East Side are under investigation after a video surfaced showing them engaging in dangerous behavior. The footage depicts two firefighters giving two women a ride in their fire truck, with the women laughing, waving, and taking selfies from the vehicle’s cab window.

The incident, involving the Engine 15/Ladder 18 crew, was recorded as the fire truck, with emergency lights flashing, was seen driving on Essex Street near East Houston Street. Witnesses also report that the firefighters sounded the horn upon the women’s request and socialized with them after the ride. The women, a brunette and a blonde, also appeared to wear one firefighter’s helmet during the stunt.

The video, posted on social media early Friday, shows bystanders’ disbelief at the reckless display. An onlooker claimed the firefighters were picked up at a nearby bar and allowed the women to stand inside the fire truck for selfies, as if they were parade floats.

Officials from the FDNY commented that such behavior is unacceptable. An FDNY chief emphasized that while public relations and educational events often involve community members in fire trucks, movement during operational response must be strictly avoided, as it could delay emergency responses or lead to injuries if involved in a collision.

It’s believed that an officer was on the truck during the stunt and will likely face disciplinary action. Firefighters arriving at the station refused to comment when approached.

The incident raises concerns about safety and professionalism. The firehouse involved has a storied history, dating back to 1874, and was among the first responders to the 9/11 attacks. The truck used in that historic response is now on display at a military museum, having been salvaged after the event. Authorities continue to investigate the behavior, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discipline and safety protocols.
