Real Estate Agent Linked to Hit-and-Run Fatality in the Hamptons Is Arrested

A 32-year-old woman from Virginia was detained after a hit-and-run incident in the Hamptons that resulted in the death of a renowned real estate agent known for appearing on the Netflix series “Million Dollar Beach House.”

Amanda Kempton faces charges of leaving the scene of a fatal vehicle accident, a serious felony with potential imprisonment of up to four years. Authorities conducted a search for the driver responsible after Sarah Burack was struck on Hampton Bays’ Montauk Highway near Villa Paul early Thursday morning. She was found unconscious by police on the scene and later died.

Detectives from the Southampton Police Department, along with the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, examined the scene. It remains unclear what type of vehicle hit Burack.

Burack had built a reputation for working with upscale properties, previously with Nest Seekers International, and was well-loved for her generosity and community involvement. A close friend mentioned she was dedicated to helping others and was deeply respected among her colleagues and friends.
