Arsenal’s £70m Transfer Bombshell Stalls—Gunners Frustrated in Race for RB Leipzig Star!
Arsenal Faces Hurdles in Transfer Pursuit of Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal is reportedly frustrated with the wage demands of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as they attempt to secure the Slovenian striker this summer. The 22-year-old, valued at around £70 million, has been Arsenal’s top target for some time, aiming to bolster their attacking options after finishing second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.
Despite multiple attempts and rejected offers last summer and in January, the club remains keen on signing Sesko. However, negotiations have hit a snag due to his salary expectations, which surpass what Arsenal is willing to offer, potentially complicating the transfer process.
In addition to Sesko, Arsenal is interested in Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, valued at approximately £60 million. Gyokeres has impressed this season with 53 goals and 13 assists in 52 matches, and Sporting is open to selling him. Although he is seen as a backup option if Sesko’s deal falls through, the club is eager to avoid missing out on either target.
Comments from Sesko’s Agent
Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, emphasized his client’s professionalism, stating, “We will never force or blackmail RB Leipzig. We believe in respecting the clubs and conduct ourselves accordingly.” He added that Sesko will only move if a club offers a “special project with a special coach.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal may face another setback in the transfer market, as defender Marc Guehi appears to favor a move to Liverpool over the Emirates Stadium. The England international, with just a year remaining on his contract at Crystal Palace, has been linked with multiple clubs but is eager for regular playing time ahead of the next World Cup.
