Marcus Rashford’s Stunning Wish: Team Up with Lamine Yamal at Barcelona After Manchester United Fallout!
Marcus Rashford Expresses Interest in Playing with Lamine Yamal at Barcelona
Marcus Rashford has openly expressed his desire to join Barcelona and share the pitch with teenage star Lamine Yamal, amid ongoing transfer speculation.
The English forward has long been interested in a move to Catalonia. His brother, Dwaine Maynard, recently held discussions with Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, about a potential £40 million transfer, which could see Rashford leave Manchester United after his contract expires.
While Barcelona is currently focusing on acquiring Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, Rashford — who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Aston Villa — remains eager for a move to Spain. In an interview with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz, Rashford conveyed his admiration for Yamal and expressed hope of playing alongside him one day, saying, “Of course I’d love to. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we’ll see.”
Rashford’s situation at United appears uncertain, especially after conflicts with the current manager, Ruben Amorim. The forward, who is under contract until 2028 earning £315,000 per week, is seeking a fresh start in Spain, citing its proximity and pleasant climate.
Barcelona scouting director Deco publicly stated last month that Rashford is one of the players the club has an interest in, alongside Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. Discussions about a transfer include Maynard, Rashford’s agent, meeting with Barcelona officials to explore options.
United, meanwhile, are open to selling Rashford for around £40 million, aiming to clear his salary from their wage bill. Any sale proceeds would be considered pure profit under their Financial Fair Play calculations.
The 27-year-old England international is motivated by the chance to compete in the Champions League and to secure his place in the national team for the upcoming World Cup.
