Marcus Rashford Expresses Interest in Playing with Lamine Yamal at Barcelona

Marcus Rashford has publicly expressed his desire to team up with teenage star Lamine Yamal at Barcelona, amid ongoing discussions about his potential transfer from Manchester United.

Rashford has long been interested in a move to the Catalan club. His brother, Dwaine Maynard, recently met with Barcelona’s sporting director Deco in Spain to explore a transfer, which could be valued around £40 million. However, Barcelona has currently shifted its focus to Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, complicating Rashford’s plans.

Seeking to generate further support, Rashford sat down with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz in Marbella, where he stated, “Of course, I’d love to play with Lamine Yamal. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we’ll see.”

Rashford’s future at Manchester United appears uncertain, especially under the management of Ruben Amorim, following a disagreement. The player is eager to move to Spain, citing the country’s appeal and proximity to his home, with ambitions to compete in the Champions League and secure a spot in the next England World Cup squad.

While Manchester United might accept a £40 million offer and are keen to offload his substantial £315,000 weekly wages, their negotiations are complicated by Barcelona’s pursuit of Nico Williams. Barcelona has agreed personal terms with Williams, and coach Hansi Flick is determined to complete that deal.

Despite the current focus on Williams, Rashford’s interest remains high, especially in light of possible mutual parting with Manchester United. His brother Maynard previously met with Barcelona officials to discuss a potential transfer, highlighting the seriousness of the move.
