Adrien Rabiot & Mother Demand £13K Damages from PSG After Marseille Star Wins £1.1M Legal Battle!
Adrien Rabiot and His Mother Seek £13,000 in Damages from PSG Following Abuse Incidents
Adrien Rabiot has filed a lawsuit against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, just one day after receiving €1.3 million in settlement from the club. The Paris Court of Appeal ruled that Rabiot’s series of fixed-term contracts should be treated as permanent, awarding him compensation for unpaid wages, unused holidays, and breach of contract.
Rabiot, who has won five French league titles with PSG, is now pursuing further legal action concerning alleged mistreatment. He, along with his mother and longtime advisor Veronique, accuse PSG of failing to control supporter behavior, which included abusive banners and insults directed at him during a match against Marseille in March.
The incident marked Rabiot’s first return to Parc des Princes since transferring to Juventus in 2019. During the game, the crowd displayed derogatory chants and banners targeting him. Although PSG was fined €20,000 and faced a partial stand closure, Rabiot’s family claims these sanctions were inadequate.
The family’s lawsuit centers on PSG’s failure to maintain order and prevent personal harm to Rabiot and his mother. A hearing is scheduled for November 4, though it may be rescheduled depending on PSG’s responses. Their main aim is to have the court recognize PSG’s neglect in safeguarding their players and family.
Following the March match, Rabiot publicly criticized PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi on social media, highlighting the abuse he endured and condemning the club’s handling of supporter misconduct. He wrote, “Insulting a mother, and a deceased father… Everything comes at a price one day,” emphasizing that no amount of money can compensate for the loss of dignity.
Rabiot’s legal actions underline ongoing issues related to supporter conduct and club responsibility, spotlighting the challenges faced by players and their families regarding abuse at stadiums.
