The last time a Champions League winner was defeated by a South American club was in 2012, when Corinthians beat Chelsea in the Club World Cup final.

To avoid elimination, PSG must secure a win against MLS team Seattle Sounders in their final group game, as the current defeat significantly hampers their qualification prospects.
