Florian Wirtz Spotted Arriving by Private Jet Ahead of RECORD-Breaking £116M Liverpool Move!
Florian Wirtz Arrives at Manchester Airport Amidst Record-Breaking Transfer to Liverpool
German midfielder Florian Wirtz has landed at Manchester Airport, signaling the final stages of his anticipated £116 million transfer to Liverpool. The 22-year-old arrived around 4:42 pm on Thursday, en route to completing his medical examination scheduled for the evening.
Wirtz’s move is set to make history as the most expensive transfer involving a British club, surpassing previous records. The fee includes a guaranteed £100 million base and is believed to total around £116 million. Liverpool challenged top European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Manchester City, to secure this transfer.
He previously arrived at Cologne Bonn Airport earlier in the day and is expected to join Liverpool soon. Wirtz’s parents, Hans and Karin, played a pivotal role in negotiating his five-year contract, reportedly earning a commission of approximately £8.6 million (€10 million).
During his time in Germany, Wirtz enjoyed significant success with Bayer Leverkusen, winning a domestic double and the German Super Cup. He will soon team up with former Bayer teammate Jeremie Frimpong, who recently transferred to Liverpool for £29.5 million, and the two shared photos sunbathing off Montenegro earlier this week.
Wirtz’s move involved initial resistance from Bayer Leverkusen, which held out for a higher bid. Liverpool persisted, eventually reaching an agreement after bids of £100m and £110m were rejected. The transfer is expected to be finalized soon, with medical checks in progress.
In addition to Wirtz’s arrival, Liverpool is also close to signing Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, with reports suggesting the defender’s agent has confirmed the deal is nearly complete. Bournemouth values the player at around £45 million, but sources indicate that the transfer is very likely to go through soon, with negotiations nearly concluded.
