Trump Destroys Putin’s Mediation Offer—Insists on Mediating Russia First!
WASHINGTON — On Wednesday, the President announced his refusal of a recent proposal from Russian President Vladimir Putin to assist in mediating the Iran-Israel conflict. Instead, he emphasized that the focus should be on resolving the Ukraine war first.
“I spoke with Putin yesterday, and he offered to help mediate,” the President said while overseeing the installation of a new large flagpole on the White House lawn. “I told him, ‘Mediate your own. Let’s mediate Russia first.’ I said, ‘Vladimir, handle Russia, then worry about this later,’” he added.
Following months of attempting to push Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky towards peace, the President dismissed negotiations after Russia continued attacks on civilian areas, which he described as “absolutely CRAZY.”
Iran’s alliances with Russia and China have raised concerns as the country faces shortages of rockets and drones less than a week into ongoing conflicts. Meanwhile, Iran’s nuclear sites have been heavily targeted by Israel with 2,000-pound bombs, aiming to prevent nuclear weapon development. Since last Friday, Israeli forces have also targeted Iranian military officials and scientists.
President Trump is contemplating U.S. intervention options, including potential airstrikes on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, which is buried beneath a mountain. He has also publicly threatened to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei if Iran attacks U.S. troops.
Iran has lost much of its air defense capabilities amidst Israeli bombings, which target nuclear sites and officials. The U.S. is weighing military options, including a possible 30,000-pound bunker buster bomb against Fordow.
