Shocking Secret: Anne Burrell’s Last Plans Before Tragic Death Revealed!

Anne Burrell planned to “celebrate” her new chapter with fellow chef Shirley Chung before her sudden passing on Tuesday.

Shirley Chung, 48, expressed her sorrow in an Instagram tribute, sharing how honored she felt to cook alongside Burrell and describing her as a mentor with wise words and advice. Chung, who recently announced that she is in remission after being diagnosed with stage 4 tongue cancer last July, posted a carousel of photos and videos showing joyful moments with Burrell.

Burrell and Chung had plans to celebrate new beginnings together.

Chung shared, “We were just texting about eating tacos and knitting blankets last week, planning to mark our new life. I can’t believe this is real. I’m heartbroken. Rest in peace, my friend.”

Burrell’s death shocked many in the culinary community, eliciting heartfelt tributes from chefs and Food Network stars alike. Elizabeth Falkner reflected, recalling they recently reconnected and shared a night of singing and laughter. Falkner said, “She came to my dinner and thanked me, and we vowed to be even better friends.”

Burrell was found unconscious early Tuesday at her Brooklyn home and pronounced dead later that day. Although her cause of death remains unspecified, a NYC Fire Department representative revealed a 911 caller reported her suffering a “cardiac arrest” and being “dead on arrival.”

Her loved ones mourned her as a “beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend,” highlighting her radiant smile and the positive impact she had worldwide. They concluded, “Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”

Burrell’s family remembers her as a cherished part of their lives.
