Jimmy Fallon Recreates Iconic ‘Dirty Dancing’ Lift in Cannes – You Won’t Believe the Epic Finale!

Jimmy Fallon is thoroughly enjoying his first time at the Cannes Lions festival. His celebration included recreating the famous “Dirty Dancing” lift with a friend during a lively dinner outing.

“After a long travel day—seven and a half hours, a two-hour layover, another short flight, and some time here—I’m ready to celebrate,” Fallon shared at NBCUniversal’s Freewheel Beach. He also mentioned that a visit to the restaurant Le Maschou turned into an impromptu dance party.

Fallon, 50, also engaged in a “dance challenge” with the table next to him, where he danced to hits like Michael Jackson and The Pointer Sisters, culminating in him leaping into a stranger’s arms, referencing the classic scene from the film.

He explained, “I had to do it—the guy was asking for it. ‘Nobody puts Baby in the corner,’ so I dove in. It was my first Cannes, and I wanted to make it memorable.”

He also recounted a “fever dream” moment at Le Maschou, where everyone was singing along, and when a song from “Dirty Dancing” started, he and his dance partner locked eyes and recreated the iconic scene, much to onlookers’ amusement.

In addition to dancing, Fallon has been mingling with fans around Cannes, entertaining crowds at spots such as the Carlton Hotel and making jokes to crowds of advertisers.

During a panel for his upcoming series “On Brand,” Fallon joked about his new vocabulary, saying, “I said ‘ROI’ today, and people thought I was an expert.” He also humorously mistook “LTO” (limited time only) for a car brand and teased about how everyone at the event was clearly enjoying the festivities.

His playful antics highlight his first experience at Cannes, blending humor, dance, and fan engagement in true Fallon style.
