Senator Elissa Slotkin was forthright when discussing the domestic use of the military during an appearance on MSNBC.

During his interview, Senator Slotkin stated:

“Use of the U.S. military should be a last resort, only if law enforcement cannot maintain order and a governor explicitly requests assistance. That has happened before. But currently, that is not the case.”

“It’s clear to all of us that this is politically motivated. Notably, Texas and Florida—states with some of the highest numbers of undocumented immigrants—aren’t being questioned about deploying the military there. We understand what this is really about.”
