Camila Mayan, the former girlfriend of footballer Alexis Mac Allister, is pursuing a $6 million (£4.5 million) compensation claim from the Liverpool midfielder in a recent lawsuit filed after their breakup in 2022.

Mac Allister, who ended his five-year relationship with Mayan shortly after winning the 2022 World Cup, transferred from Brighton to Liverpool in 2023. Since then, he has become a key team member, winning the Premier League title last season.

In March, Mac Allister announced he would soon become a father with his new partner, Ailen Cova, who he started dating soon after his relationship with Mayan ended.

Mayan claims she was cheated on and dumped so Mac Allister could pursue Cova, leading her to sue him and seek compensation for their years together while living abroad. It’s reported that she demands $250,000 per month for the two years they lived abroad, totaling $6 million.

However, a court has decided the case will be heard in England, which Mayan sees as a setback in her efforts.

In interviews, Mayan expressed her frustration with the court decision, stating: “It’s more of the same. Court cases take time, and I don’t have contacts there.” She confirmed she is exploring her options before proceeding further.

Mac Allister responded to the lawsuit, emphasizing that their relationship had ended and that the case should be resolved in court. When asked about Mayan’s claims that he was unfaithful, he said: “She chose to share her perception publicly, but I know the truth and remain calm.”

Mayan countered, stating she hadn’t spoken out during his previous relationships and only learned about some claims in the media.

Mac Allister stated, “I have to accept this, but I don’t tell the press about personal matters. They try to portray me differently, but I stay calm and know the truth.” In March, he shared his excitement about expecting his first child with Cova, posting heartfelt messages on social media expressing his happiness and love.
