BREAKING: NYC Comptroller Brad Lander ARRESTED by ICE at Federal Plaza – Shocking Details Inside!
City comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was detained by ICE agents Tuesday outside a federal immigration court, according to his campaign.
Footage captured Lander repeatedly asking to see a judicial warrant for a man being removed by immigration officers, while firmly holding the detainee’s shoulder.
When Lander refused to release his hold, a voice was heard instructing, “Take him in,” leading to his arrest. Lander protested, saying, “You don’t have the authority to arrest U.S. citizens,” as he was handcuffed, according to video shared by an amNY reporter.
Sources told The Post that Lander was charged with obstruction of governmental administration. The mayoral candidate, who is competing for the Democratic nomination, had been at the court observing immigration proceedings following President Trump’s recent directive for ICE to focus on New York City.
“While escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, Brad Lander was detained by masked ICE agents,” said spokesperson Dora Pekec. “This situation is ongoing, and we are closely monitoring it.”
