Arsenal Nears £13 Million Signing of La Liga Defender as Mikel Arteta Continues Summer Transfers

Arsenal is close to finalizing a deal for Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera, with the player expected to undergo a medical this week. Negotiations over a transfer fee of approximately £13 million, including performance bonuses, are nearing completion.

The 21-year-old has agreed personal terms with the club and will bolster Arsenal’s defensive options. Mosquera can operate as both a centre-back and right-back, filling the gap left by Takehiro Tomiyasu, who recently mutually terminated his contract with the club.

Having made 90 appearances for Valencia, Mosquera was a regular starter last season, featuring in 37 of 38 La Liga matches. His versatility and experience make him a promising addition to Arsenal’s squad as they aim to strengthen their defense.

Arsenal have been actively strengthening their squad with recent signings including Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga. The club is also pursuing an attacking player and is said to have its eyes on Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
