Noni Madueke to Undergo Arsenal Medical Today Ahead of £52 Million Transfer from Chelsea

Arsenal is set to complete the transfer of Noni Madueke from Chelsea, with the player scheduled for a medical examination today. The move, valued at approximately £52 million, marks the Gunners’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

Personal terms for a five-year contract have already been agreed upon, and the transfer negotiations between Arsenal and Chelsea are near completion. Madueke, the 23-year-old England international, trained with Chelsea’s squad in New York ahead of their recent Club World Cup final victory over Paris Saint-Germain. Last season, he was a regular starter for Chelsea, including playing the full match in their Conference League final win over Real Betis.

Alongside Madueke’s impending move, Arsenal is also targeting Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze. The club has agreed on a transfer deal for Viktor Gyökeres from Brighton, worth an initial £55 million plus additional add-ons, with Gyökeres set to sign a five-year contract. Arsenal’s interest in Eze continues as they seek to bolster their attacking options.

Madueke primarily prefers to play on the right flank with his left foot, a position currently held by Bukayo Saka, but he can operate on either wing. His versatility makes him a valuable addition, and he is expected to compete with Gabriel Martinelli for a starting spot next season.

Chelsea acknowledged Madueke’s departure, with their coach Enzo Maresca stating that the player decided to leave voluntarily, not due to any club decision. Maresca emphasized that the player’s desire to exit was his own choice, and Chelsea did not force the move.

Following Madueke, Arsenal has already secured goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, and midfielders Christian Nørgaard and Martin Zubimendi. The club’s transfer activity reflects its efforts to strengthen the squad and aim for a Premier League title challenge.
