Lainey Wilson Shares a Key Rule Maintains Her Relationship with Fiancé Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges

Country singer Lainey Wilson recently opened up about how she keeps her relationship with fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges strong and healthy.

During an interview with PEOPLE magazine, the 33-year-old artist emphasized the importance of intentional time together, despite their busy lives. She explained, “You have to carve out time. You need to be aware and plan ahead, like saying, ‘I have a day off in a week; I need to spend that with my partner.’”

Wilson highlighted that both she and Hodges prioritize their bond and cherish their shared moments, making the effort to enjoy quality time whenever possible. She shared, “It’s about soaking up those moments because we both need and deserve them.”

Referring to Hodges, a former NFL quarterback turned real estate agent, Wilson described him as her “best friend” and one of the most genuine people she’s ever met. She added, “He is my biggest supporter, and we don’t play by the traditional rules of a relationship.”

She further explained that their connection is unique because they don’t see each other every day. A lot of her life involves traveling, which adds to the challenge but also makes their relationship more dynamic. She mentioned, “We’re figuring it out as we go, and that’s part of the fun.”

Wilson and Hodges began dating in 2021 and made their relationship public at the ACM Awards in March 2023.
