President Trump and Melania Attend FIFA Club World Cup Final

The President and First Lady Melania Trump visited MetLife Stadium to watch the FIFA Club World Cup final between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, providing a glimpse of the larger soccer event scheduled in the US next year.

The Trumps traveled from their Bedminster golf club to East Rutherford, New Jersey, where they were seen waving to spectators during the match.

The FIFA Club World Cup features club teams from around the globe, distinct from the FIFA World Cup that pits national teams against each other.

The FIFA Club World Cup trophy was displayed in Trump’s box for the final, and the venue will also host the 2026 FIFA World Cup final—the first time in over 30 years the US will host this event.

The visit coincided with the first anniversary of Trump’s near-fatal shooting incident in Butler, Pennsylvania. Although he chose not to mark the date publicly, he reflected on it in an interview, recalling that he was quickly evacuated after shots were fired, which he believed totaled eight bullets.

Throughout his second term, Trump has been a frequent attendee at major sports events, including the Super Bowl and UFC fights, with his support for UFC growing due to his rapport with its CEO, Dana White.

Earlier, Trump discussed the assassination attempt on Fox News, recalling how he instinctively ducked when shots were fired, believing there were about eight bullets fired.

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding. Trump has not announced any specific plans to commemorate this milestone but had earlier hinted at hosting a UFC fight at the White House as part of the celebrations.
