Representative Stephen Lynch (D-MA), the Acting Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee, has sent a letter to Microsoft’s CEO demanding full access to documents related to DOGE’s efforts to erase data from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

The inquiry stems from DOGE’s use of Microsoft’s GitHub platform to store code written by a DOGE engineer while attempting to open backdoors into the NLRB’s system and export sensitive data. House Democrats seek comprehensive details regarding everything stored on Microsoft’s platform concerning this matter.

Rep. Lynch stated:

“It appears Microsoft might hold the only records documenting significant misconduct involving the NLRB’s systems. Recent reports from NPR and whistleblower disclosures indicate that DOGE personnel tried to manipulate high-level system access to remove confidential information—possibly including corporate and union-related data.”

“The whistleblower also revealed efforts to hide activities by deleting logs and creating backdoors to the NLRB’s case management system, facilitating the transfer of large volumes of data outside the agency.”
