Laura Woods Reveals Her Biggest Worry Returning to Work Post-Pregnancy
Laura Woods Opens Up About Feeling Nervous to Return to Work After Pregnancy
Laura Woods has shared her personal experience of going back to television after welcoming her first child, revealing feelings of anxiety and self-doubt. Known for her sports coverage, Woods took a break from her on-screen duties during her pregnancy and returned earlier this year, covering the 2025 Champions League final.
Woods, 38, welcomed her son Leo in January with her fiancé, former Love Island contestant Adam Collard. She admitted that returning to work brought about concerns, particularly regarding her appearance, as she believed it was a common perception for women in media to be judged based on how they look.
“I was nervous about how I looked,” she explained. “You gain weight during pregnancy and feel different. That was one of my main worries. Surprisingly, that worry has diminished—I care about it less than I thought I would.” (See image below)
Laura Woods has spoken openly about her anxiety over returning to television after pregnancy.
She reflected on how her perspective has shifted since becoming a mother, noting a newfound acceptance of her body and its transformations. “My body has been through a lot, and I now see it as part of something much bigger—you’ve created life, and that’s incredible,” Woods said. She emphasized that her primary focus now is her son Leo and ensuring his well-being.
Woods will soon feature in ITV’s coverage of the Women’s European Championships, supporting England as they aim to defend their title. She expressed confidence in coach Sarina Wiegman’s leadership, calling her a “tournament animal” with extensive success in major finals.
