Former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott has spoken out about alleged tension involving her ex-boyfriend, Sam Thompson, and her current partner, Louis Tomlinson. Zara and Sam’s relationship began in early 2019 and was prominently featured on the reality show ‘Made in Chelsea’. After a breakup, the couple reconciled briefly in late 2020 but ended their relationship last year, with Sam describing it as a difficult period.
The connection between Zara and Louis became public after Louis left a supportive comment on her Instagram, saying, “Proud of you x.” Remarkably, both Zara and Louis participated as teammates in the recent Soccer Aid match, a charity game for UNICEF, demonstrating their friendly relationship.
In an interview, Zara emphasized her focus on her career, stating, “The only thing in my life that’s worth writing about is the work I do.” She also addressed the ongoing rumors, expressing frustration at the focus on supposed drama, saying, “I see some of the things that are written and I’m like: ‘Why do we focus on the non-existent drama?’ Sometimes that can be frustrating, but I suppose it’s all part of the industry.”
Aside from her reality TV appearances, Zara competed on Strictly Come Dancing with partner Graziano Di Prima, though their run was cut short in week five. Beyond entertainment, she has established herself as a documentary filmmaker, creating impactful shows such as Ibiza: Secrets of the Party Island and Zara McDermott: Disordered Eating.
