Scarlett Johansson Reveals Challenge of Wild Jurassic Shoot

Scarlett Johansson Joins the Jurassic World Franchise in “Jurassic World Rebirth”

The movie will run for 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Renowned actress Scarlett Johansson has officially become part of the iconic Jurassic Park universe, fulfilling a long-standing childhood dream. In an interview, she expressed her excitement about her debut in the franchise with the upcoming film Jurassic World Rebirth.

Johansson shared, “It was a childhood dream of mine to be in this movie. I’ve been trying to join the Jurassic universe for thirty years.” In Jurassic World Rebirth, she portrays Zora Bennett, a resilient mercenary tasked with retrieving dinosaur DNA from a mysterious, island in the ocean. The island is home to dinosaurs, making survival a fierce challenge.

Recalling her first encounter with the original Jurassic Park film, she said, “I saw the movie when I was 10 years old in theaters, and it left a lasting impression. I was mesmerized and terrified— it truly shaped my childhood.”

Joking about how she secured her role, Johansson mentioned, “Turns out that if you harass the producer enough, you might just get the job.”

The film, lasting 2 hours and 14 minutes, is packed with thrilling action and stunning visuals. It features a diverse cast including Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ed Skrein, David Iacono, and Luna Blaise, portraying a group of survivors facing the perils of a prehistoric island.

Filming locations ranged from Malta to the rainforests of Thailand, providing an authentic backdrop that added realism and a few unexpected moments, as Johansson described. She recounted, “We were genuinely in the jungle, and sometimes you’d be making coffee when someone would discover a scorpion on the table.”

For action scenes, Johansson had to climb a rock wall, which she found intense but manageable thanks to proper training. She admitted, “Heights aren’t my biggest fear, but cockroaches are, and there were many.”

Filming during the monsoon season brought weather challenges, with Johansson humorously noting, “Mahershala Ali melted like a candle— I wouldn’t recommend filming in those conditions.”

Despite the obstacles, Johansson found the experience rewarding, especially given the gorgeous locations. She concluded, “I may be a city girl from New York, but it was incredible to shoot amid such breathtaking scenery— even if I longed for a traditional studio every day.”
