Rashford Approved by Barcelona Coach as Man United Exit Looms

Barcelona Encouraged to Sign Marcus Rashford as Manchester United Outcast Nears Exit

Barcelona’s head coach Hansi Flick has reportedly expressed interest in signing Marcus Rashford, who is currently out of favor at Manchester United. Rashford, a product of United’s youth system, is among five players the club aims to part ways with this summer after being asked to delay their pre-season return.

The players considered surplus to requirements include Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony, as United looks to rebuild ahead of the 2025-26 season under Ruben Amorim. Rashford, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Aston Villa, showcased strong form with two goals in ten Premier League appearances.

Interest in Rashford has heightened after the LaLiga giants missed out on signing Nico Williams. The player himself has openly expressed a desire to play alongside Barcelona’s talented young star Lamine Yamal. Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reports that Flick has asked United’s management to approve a loan deal for Rashford, with an option to buy next summer.

Barcelona previously considered Liverpool’s Luis Diaz as an alternative, but they declined to pursue the move. The deal is expected to develop in the coming weeks as negotiations between the clubs continue. Reports suggest that Barcelona is willing to subsidize part of Rashford’s lucrative weekly wages of £300,000 through the loan agreement.

Meanwhile, Rashford arrived at Manchester United’s training ground shortly after other squad members left for pre-season, having trained alone earlier in the week. Despite being sidelined, he still has access to the club’s medical facilities as he seeks a new team. Rumors also link him with Bayern Munich, alongside ongoing transfer activities at United, including new signings like Matheus Cunha and Enzo Kana-Biyik.
