Huma Abedin and Alex Soros started their wedding festivities with a private rehearsal dinner on Friday evening.

The event took place at Alex’s mother Susan Weber Soros’ waterfront property on Shelter Island, NY. Susan bought the estate for nearly $6 million in 2013. The 4,358 sq ft home features five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms on 1.37 acres.

Abedin opted for a champagne-colored, floor-length gown paired with white heels, as seen in photos from the event. Alex complemented her look in a tan suit. The couple was seen walking closely through the estate grounds.

Photos also show the couple eating ice cream together, hinting at their playful relationship.

Just last summer, Alex proposed with an estimated $1 million diamond ring, reflecting his commitment. Expert Mike Fried described the ring as “incredibly rare” and said it likely cost around $1.3 million.

They announced their engagement shortly after Alex proposed in Italy. The couple made their public debut at the 2024 Met Gala, marking their first major red carpet appearance as a couple.

An insider commented, “Alex is ideal for Huma—wealthy, influential, and aligned with her ambitions.” The couple’s relationship has been warm and relaxed after years of ups and downs, according to friends.

Since then, they’ve been spotted together multiple times, including at the Met Gala. Abedin, previously married to Anthony Weiner, filed for divorce in 2017 following his sexting scandal.
