NYC Man Fatally Attacks 77-Year-Old Partner with Pot and Smothering

Bronx Man Charged with Murder in Domestic Violence Case

A 73-year-old man from the Bronx has been arrested and charged with murder following a brutal domestic assault. Police say Jeffrey Kolin assaulted his 77-year-old partner, Marsha Greenberg, in their apartment on Barnes Avenue.

According to authorities, Kolin summoned emergency services after attacking Greenberg with a kitchen pot and suffocating her with a pillow. He reportedly called 911 himself and admitted to the killing. When officers arrived, they found Greenberg unconscious and unresponsive. She had sustained head trauma and was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Evidence collected at the scene indicated a long history of turmoil in the couple’s relationship. Law enforcement sources disclosed that Greenberg and Kolin had been together for over twenty years, with reports of domestic incidents dating back to 2005. The most recent prior incident was recorded on June 25.

Kolin faces multiple charges, including murder, manslaughter, two counts of strangulation, and criminal possession of a weapon.
