Man United Ends £10m Streaming Deal Over Documentary with Ruben Amorim’s Role Revealed
Manchester United Cuts Ties with £10 Million Amazon Documentary Over Internal Disagreements
Manchester United has decided to terminate plans for a lucrative behind-the-scenes documentary with Amazon, potentially earning over £10 million. The club had been engaged in secret negotiations with Amazon for their “All or Nothing” series, but they ultimately pulled out due to internal concerns about the impact on team performance.
The decision was influenced by objections from manager Ruben Amorim, who was uneasy about the presence of cameras amid a turbulent period for the club. Despite the significant financial benefit, the club prioritized team focus and performance, especially given their struggle under Amorim’s leadership following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.
The documentary would have showcased United’s challenges, including a poor season finishing 15th in the Premier League and missing out on Champions League qualification after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham. Support for the project existed within the commercial department, but only with the football department’s approval. The club’s CEO, Omar Berrada, was also reportedly in favor.

Amorim voiced concerns about players like Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, who are among five players instructed to stay away from pre-season training. The club’s recent struggles, including their worst league finish in years, highlight the importance of team unity and focus during this period.

Amorim’s opposition reflects a broader concern about distractions during a difficult period for United. Despite their transfer activity—signing Matheus Cunha and closing in on Bryan Mbeumo—the club remains eager to sell players like Rashford and Garnacho to strengthen the squad.

Meanwhile, interest from various streaming services, including Netflix, Amazon, and Disney+, in documenting the club’s recent upheavals, has waned due to the turmoil surrounding the club’s management under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who has implemented significant cost-cutting measures resulting in numerous redundancies.
