Gulf Coast Influencer Sentenced for Child Porn Offenses
Influencer Sentenced to Five Years in Prison for Child Exploitation
A social media personality known for sharing his Gulf Coast lifestyle with his wife has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
Joshua David Stapleton, 39, originally from Georgia, was given a 20-year sentence—five years to be served in jail and the remaining 15 years on probation—following a plea agreement on 20 counts of sexual exploitation of children. Investigations revealed that between 2018 and 2020, he downloaded explicit images involving prepubescent children in abusive scenarios.
Stapleton and his wife operated the popular “Gulf Coast Stapletons” social media accounts, which gained more than 86,000 followers and over a million likes on TikTok and Instagram. Their content often showcased workouts, meals, and vacations, with recent posts from their trip to Orange Beach, Alabama.
He faced initial charges of possessing 15 child pornographic images, which later expanded to 40 counts of exploitation. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to half of the charges.
Stapleton married Brittani Morris Stapleton in 2023 after his charges surfaced. She has publicly stated that there was transparency in their relationship and denied claims that their social media portrayed a fabricated lifestyle.
Despite her husband’s indictment, Brittani emphasized that their life was genuine and that they remain happy together. She is currently addressing the online misinformation surrounding the case. Joshua Stapleton is now incarcerated at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
