Aubrey O’Day Calls Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Verdict ‘Dangerous’
Aubrey O’Day Reacts to Diddy’s Acquittal on Sex Trafficking Charges
Following the recent court decision in which Sean “Diddy” Combs was found not guilty of sex trafficking, Aubrey O’Day shared her emotional response on Instagram. She expressed concern over the profound impact the verdict could have on survivors and the message it sends about accountability.
“I’m still processing the gravity of this outcome. The societal and cultural implications are indescribable,” O’Day wrote. “It’s heartbreaking to see so many lives touched by their experiences with Sean Combs—only for those stories to be overlooked or dismissed by a jury.”
O’Day, who was once signed to Combs’ Bad Boy Records, also voiced her support for Cassie Ventura, a former partner of Combs, who testified against him. Ventura’s testimony revealed years of alleged abuse, including physical and emotional harm. Despite her bravery in court, Ventura’s credibility was challenged by some, which O’Day finds troubling.
O’Day criticized the justice system, stating, “Law does not always equal fairness. Justice isn’t solely what is achieved in a courtroom, and we should not accept narratives that normalize abuse and silence survivors.” She emphasized that no individual, regardless of their wealth or fame, should be above accountability.
She also commented on the defense’s portrayal of Diddy and Ventura’s relationship as a “great love story,” warning against allowing such narratives to obscure the truth and perpetuate dangerous beliefs about power and control.
In her words, “Women, men, or any artist are not property of the powerful. We are not disposable, and the verdict of a jury should not decide our worth or safety.”
Legal Outcomes and Future Sentencing
After deliberating for several days, the jury convicted Diddy on two counts of transportation for prostitution but acquitted him of charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering. The maximum sentence for the transport charges is 10 years each, meaning he could face up to 20 years in prison. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
