Joao Pedro Reveals Influence of Teammate in Chelsea Transfer

Joao Pedro recently opened up about the key role played by a teammate in convincing him to join Chelsea. The Brazilian forward completed a £60 million move from Brighton, marking an important addition to the Blues’ summer transfer window, which has now exceeded £200 million.

Chelsea had already secured the signatures of Liam Delap, Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, and Kendry Paez before finalizing Pedro’s transfer. The 23-year-old brings with him five seasons of experience in English football, having previously played for Watford and Brighton, where he scored 30 goals across two seasons.

A notable factor in Pedro’s decision was his interaction with fellow new signing Andrey Santos, who joined Chelsea in January 2023. Pedro shared that their Instagram conversation heavily influenced his choice to move, with Santos speaking positively about the club and its team.
