Meghan Markle Hits Snag: Refunds Issued Over Recent Stock Issue
Product Oversell Leads to Refunds for Meghan Markle’s Lifestyle Brand
Meghan Markle’s lifestyle enterprise, As Ever, experienced a significant sales mishap when one of its newly launched products was oversold, prompting the company to issue refunds and offer complimentary items to affected customers.
On June 20, some customers who purchased the Duchess of Sussex’s apricot spread received emails notifying them that their orders could not be fulfilled due to unexpectedly high demand. The message assured customers that their funds would be refunded by the end of the week and that once the product was restocked, they would be among the first to receive it free of charge.
Some shoppers expressed disappointment but appreciated the company’s efforts to rectify the situation. One customer shared on social media, “I’m getting my two jars of jam, with a refund for the apricot spread and a promise of a replacement in the next order!”
Another customer noted, “They can’t fill my order of one jar but are refunding me and sending a free jar later. It’s good to see they care about customers.”
Earlier in the year, Markle rebranded her company from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever due to trademark issues. Since then, the brand has faced some criticism, especially after the rapid sellout of her products, including jam and honey. Recent reviews criticized the apricot spread, with a jam expert publicly condemning it as a poorly made product, calling it “a failure” in the jam industry.
