Brentford CEO Warns Man United: Low Offer for Bryan Mbeumo Sparks Major Clash!
Brentford Stands Firm on Bryan Mbeumo Transfer
Manchester United has been pursuing Bryan Mbeumo for weeks, with the player expressing a preference for a move to Old Trafford. However, Brentford has made it clear that they will not agree to his departure unless their valuation is met.
The latest bid from United, believed to be around £55 million plus additional bonuses, was rejected by Brentford. The London club values Mbeumo higher, comparable to the £62.5 million spent by United on Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Brentford’s director of football, Phil Giles, noted that with Mbeumo’s impressive 20 Premier League goals last season, interest from top clubs has been strong. He emphasized that the player has clear ideas about his career path, which the club respects, and that negotiations have been ongoing for several weeks.
Giles mentioned that if an offer suitable for both parties materializes, Brentford is open to the sale. “If he ends up here next season, I wouldn’t be surprised. It would be great for us and would simplify things,” he said.
Despite losing their head coach, Thomas Frank, to Tottenham Hotspur and facing transfer movements of staff, Brentford remains confident in their strategy. The club has a history of successfully developing players and replacing key personnel, believing this approach keeps them strong amidst transfer speculation.
Recent managerial changes include Keith Andrews being introduced as the new head coach, succeeding Thomas Frank, who now manages Tottenham. Andrews, former Ireland midfielder and set-piece coach, highlighted the club’s positive environment and collective spirit, comparing their developmental model to Liverpool’s famous internal promotion approach.
