Chelsea Eye Premier League Star Despite £100m Summer Spend—Major Transfer Battle Challenge!

Chelsea Still Interested in Premier League Midfielder Despite Heavy Summer Spending

The Chelsea squad may pursue West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus this summer, even after planning to spend over £100 million on two forwards, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens. The club might need to sell players first to fund a move for Kudus, the 24-year-old Ghanaian winger, who is currently available for transfer.

Chelsea has considered offering players in exchange to West Ham, but sources indicate the Hammers are not interested in such deal proposals at this time. Kudus has a release clause of £85 million within the Premier League and £125 million for Saudi clubs, though West Ham is open to more reasonable offers.

Other clubs like Manchester United and Newcastle have also shown interest in Kudus, alongside Chelsea and Tottenham. West Ham is looking to generate funds through sales to facilitate their summer recruitment plans.

Chelsea has already agreed deals worth approximately £55 million for forwards Liam Delap from Ipswich, and Joao Pedro from Brighton, as well as Gittens from Borussia Dortmund. The club has also been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.

Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s manager, likely needs to offload some players before making a move for Kudus. Many of the current squad, including Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, and Armando Broja, are potential sale candidates. Additionally, Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are expected to be transfer targets, while goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic was left out of the recent Club World Cup squad.

Chelsea remains interested in Noni Madueke, who has drawn attention from rivals such as Newcastle and Arsenal. Overall, while the club faces financial and squad planning challenges, their pursuit of Kudus remains a possibility this summer.
