Fugitive Antoine Massey Arrested After Social Media Post Following NOLA Jailbreak!

Suspect Recaptured After Six-Week Escape from New Orleans Jail

Authorities in Louisiana successfully captured Antoine Massey, one of ten inmates who escaped from a New Orleans detention center over six weeks ago. Massey was arrested peacefully at a residence about two miles from the jail, following a tip received earlier that morning.

Law enforcement surrounded the home, and Massey voluntarily surrendered after negotiations. Officials noted that he calmly exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. The arrest came after investigators linked Massey to social media posts he had made during his time on the run, which helped identify him through tips from the public.

Recent video footage showed Massey posting videos from the house after his escape, which led authorities to his location. He faced multiple serious charges, including rape, kidnapping, domestic violence involving strangulation, and violating a protective order. Additionally, he was wanted for theft and domestic battery in Orleans Parish. Authorities anticipate further charges related to his escape.

In a separate investigation, authorities acknowledged ongoing concerns about security holes in the jail’s structure. A maintenance worker was arrested for allegedly aiding the escape by disabling the water supply to the toilet behind which a hole was created. The worker’s attorney stated he denies any involvement in assisting the inmates.

While most escapees have been captured, authorities are still searching for Derrick Groves, a convicted murderer believed to be involved. The jail escape, which involved breaking through a faulty cell door, squeezing through a hole, scaling a barbed-wire fence, and fleeing into darkness, is considered one of the most significant in recent U.S. history. A message found at the scene mocked security measures, indicating deliberate intent.

Authorities are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Groves’ re-arrest, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to bring all escapees into custody.
